It is possible to save search phrases, so the search can be re-run at a later time, and create lists of items from search results.
The saved searches and saved lists can then be accessed from the Favourites page.

Remember to log in before saving lists or searches to your reader record: if you are not logged in, the saved lists and
searches will only be available for the current session, i.e. until you exit Enquiry or log in. |
Saving lists
To save a list, select the items you wish to save from your search results then click the Add to Favourites
button to open the Save to Favourite list page.

If you have not selected any results, Heritage will assume you are saving the search and not a list, so will open the
Save search page. Click the Add list to Favourites link to switch to the Save to Favourite
list page. |
In the Records to use panel, select the appropriate radio button for the records to output. The options are:
- All records - all records from the current set of results.
- Selected records - the records selected (ticked) in the results. This option will not be available for selection if no
results have been selected.
- Range - a range of records by their position in the list of results. Enter the first and last records to output in the
From and To boxes respectively.
In the Select options panel, select one of the following radio buttons:
- Create new list - to create a new list containing the selected records. The default name for the new list will be the
search phrase entered, but this can be overwritten with a name of your choice. If you have reached the maximum number of saved lists, the
Create new list option will be disabled and the warning Maxmium reached displayed to the right of the field.
You can add to or replace an existing list, but you will need to delete one or more lists via
the Favourites page before an new list can be saved. The maximum number of lists
allowed is displayed on the Preferences page.
- Add to existing list - to add the records to those in an existing list. Select the list to add the records to in the
drop-down box. Select the list to replace in the drop-down box.
- Replace existing list - to save the records to a pre-existing list, removing the records currently in the list.
Click OK. If the list has been created/updated successfully, you will be returned to the results screen.
Saving searches
To save a search phrase, run the search then from the Search Results
screen, click the Add to favourites link to open the Save search page.

If you have selected records from the search results prior to clicking Add to favourites, Heritage will
assume you are saving the records to a list and will open the Save search page. Click the
Add search to Favourites link to switch to the Save to Favourite list page. |
The search phrase will be entered in the box a the top of the screen as the default title for the search:
you can overwrite this to create a new title for the search if required. Click Save to save the search.
You will be returned to the search results screen. Your saved search can now be listed in the Favourite searches
table on the Favourites page.
